PRESIDENT / DIRECTOR OF DESIGN

JEREMY MCVICARS

Jeremy’s imagination and ingenuity have been the driving force behind Refined Gardens. From an early age and into college, Jeremy’s artistry and designs have scored many awards and notoriety. Jeremy spent 13 years as Director of Design at an award winning design firm. As president and founder of Refined Gardens, Jeremy focuses his passion and leadership on the design and construction of the most refined exterior spaces. His work has been published in the magazines Phoenix Home & Garden, Luxe, Beautiful Homes, North Valley, AZ-Lifestyle, Arizona Foothills and Arizona Residential Architects featuring design perspectives inspired by his extensive travels. Jeremy works to build a culture of collaboration in an inspiring environment. When Jeremy isn’t guiding and motivating the team, he enjoys traveling with his beautiful wife and being inspired by gardens around the world.

GENERAL MANAGER

HARRISON HOFFMAN

Harrison harnesses a strong passion for design that has been cultivated throughout his years of experience in the landscape industry. He first realized his love for plants while working summers at a plant nursery growing up in Nevada. After traveling throughout Europe, he developed an appreciation for early architecture and European gardens. Harrison enjoys drawing from that affinity and blending in modern design elements to create organized and purposeful designs evoking various emotions throughout an estate. His work has been featured in Las Vegas magazines. When not dreaming up a new design, Harrison enjoys camping, fishing, traveling, and cheering on the Los Angeles Chargers with his wife, Ashley and daughters, Violet and Hazel.

CONSTRUCTION MANAGER

MIGUEL SOTO

With nearly 20 years of experience between supervising and landscape construction, Miguel is no stranger to getting his hands dirty. Miguel has gained his construction knowledge through the many years of working for an award-winning golf course construction company, which have built some of the finest courses in the game. Past projects have taken him all over Western states such as California, Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, and throughout Arizona. After finally settling down in Arizona and taking on a supervisor role at Refined Gardens, Miguel has become the guiding hand to transforming our gardens in an orchestrated operation. His humble and honest personality is shown throughout the quality of his work. Not only passionate about his work, Miguel is a family man who in his free time enjoys blazing down hills on his mountain bike.

MAINTENANCE MANAGER

JAYSON JOYCE

Jayson was raised in the Sierra Nevada Mountains which inspired his love and appreciation for the great outdoors. As a young adult, Jayson began to construct and maintain beautiful commercial and residential landscaping sites. His work has consistently been featured and awarded in many Phoenix publications over the years. As a “life athlete” and father of four, weekends usually consist of trips to the lake, attending football games, adult league basketball, and spending quality time with family. Jayson joins Refined Gardens as an eternal optimist and looks forward to enhancing each and every garden using his skills from 20 plus years of landscaping construction and maintenance knowledge.

PROJECT MANAGER / SENIOR DESIGNER

RYAN SAWDEY

Ryan is a Southern California native whose passion for outdoor environments has inspired him to explore the nature of storytelling through design. His work develops meaning through the constant dialogue of architecture, art, decor, furniture, and the evolution of plant material. Ryan obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Landscape Architecture from Arizona State University, where he focused his studies on sustainability in design and construction. Having designed a wide range of project types such as master communities, parks, restaurants and large estates, his work has been both award-winning and magazine published. With a laid-back attitude, Ryan can be found reaching his meditative state while camping, hiking, fishing or surfing up and down the coast.

PROJECT MANAGER / DESIGNER

MARCOS CARRILLO

Trained and registered as a building architect, Marcos saw a need for visionary design in exterior environments. After receiving his Masters degree in Architecture from the University of Baja California, Marcos practiced as a licensed architect in Mexico for a few years until finally settling down in Arizona. His work seeks to celebrate the relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces, modern and timeless, and the constant conversation people have with gardens and gardens have with the site. Throughout his many years as an architect and landscape designer, Marcos has designed and managed a number of projects ranging from large communities to small-scale sites, always pushing for romantic gestures in design. Marcos and his wife Melissa, have three darling children who are constantly exploring Mexico and the Southwest seeking out hidden gems with great food and drinks. 

PROJECT MANAGER / DESIGNER

KAYLA SAWADA

Kayla grew up in Victoria, BC. The exhilarating surroundings were a great setting to nurture her fondness for nature, capturing the rugged beauty and wildlife through photography and hand-drawings. The combination of these two passions developed into a real keen focus for design. This cool Canadian moved to the hot Arizona desert to attend and receive a degree in Landscape Architecture from Arizona State University. Kayla has worked on larger scale projects but she is eager to concentrate on residential homes that are more intimate, allowing for deeper creativity. True to her roots, Kayla loves hockey and beer, always willing to try a local brew. We are thrilled to have this charming outdoors devotee a part of our team.

PROJECT MANAGER / DESIGNER

CHELSEA MOORE

Throughout her many years of working in landscape design, Chelsea has designed a range of projects from master planned communities, parks and city monuments, to commercial properties and large estates. Chelsea’s passion for plants and gardening led her to pursue a Bachelor of Science Degree in Landscape Architecture from Arizona State University. Originally from Colorado, her love for the outdoors inspires her to create inviting outdoor retreats within the Arizona desert. When she is not managing a project, you can find Chelsea in her own backyard tending to her garden of tropical fruit trees, on a road trip to the beach or mountains with her awesome twin boys.

DIGITAL ARTIST

SEAN DIVINCENZO

Sean is an architectural consultant and designer from Long Island who threw a dart at a map and ended up in Arizona. Sean brings to Refined Gardens his many years of experience in planning large estates and environmental studies, specializing in 3-D renderings. His designs have been published in various publications and recently designed the archways into the Town of Carefree. He answered the call of duty, serving at Ground Zero and achieving the rank of sergeant for his diligent efforts. Sean is a Mini Cooper enthusiast and spends his free time on road trips and rallies with his friends and his wife, Alexis. Sean is also a student of photography, and enjoys designing various steampunk creations.

MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

JACQUELINE FULL

Jacqueline grew up on a cattle and agricultural farm in Illinois with a love of nature.  She has extensive experience and expertise in horticultural and turf maintenance.  An avid golfer, Jacqueline decided early on to find a career centered on her love of nature. She started on a golf course in 1988, became territory manager and trainer for Bernhard, a company that provides turf equipment and maintenance to golf courses across the U.S. and abroad before accepting positions for the town of Fountain Hills and eventually joining the team at Refined Gardens. Her favorite part of her responsibilities that transcends the industry is detailing what nature offers and nurturing managed vegetation as it enhances the beauty to any estate. Golf remains a passion along with hiking, fly fishing and discovering new and exciting outdoor activities.

STACY MCVICARS

Stacy is responsible for ensuring and furthering the vision of Refined Gardens. From developing standard operating procedures to creating and establishing relationships, Stacy draws from her over ten years of customer service, specializing in insurance coordination. A true lover of animals, Stacy makes a point of visiting a wildlife sanctuary or habitat on every vacation. She is a talented author of many farcical stories.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

YANET FLORES

As an administrative assistant and a background in education Yanet is happy to support and navigate the complexities that a busy office like Refined Gardens brings to the table. Yanet moved to AZ in 2016 from NYC (the Bronx) and she excels at crossing the street dangerously. When Yanet isn’t in the office she enjoys spending time with her family, going to concerts, cat sitting and taking long naps.

OFFICE RECEPTIONIST

ADRIANA VILCHIS

Adriana was born and raised in the windy city, Chicago. In the year 2000, she was ready for a change and decided to pull the trigger and move to Phoenix. Adriana worked in the education field for 10+ yrs. She was ready to try something new, so she decided to join the Refined Gardens team. When Adriana is not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also likes shopping, dancing and loves traveling with her husband creating new memories by exploring new adventures together.
